GLOBAL MX-5 CUP

Mazda MX-5 Cup is a one-make professional series sanctioned by IMSA and with a schedule in conjunction with IMSA Weather Tech’s series for 2024.
The Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich® Tires is among the most hotly contested & affordable, professional single-make championships in the US. Simply stated, it’s the best value in professional sports car racing. As part of the Mazda Road to 24, the MX-5 Cup series provides an excellent starting point for drivers, offering a clear path to higher level sports car classes and ultimately to a possible IMSA prototype & NASCAR career. Flis Performance builds and supports all the MX-5 Cup cars running in the series.

Fans will be able to catch some of the best racing in the country live as the Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires will once again be streamed live at RACER.com in 2024.
The hugely competitive series will open its seven-event 2024 championship season as part of the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway. With over 30 identically-prepared racecars entered, the full field will not only be pursuing the $250,000 year-end championship prize on offer from Mazda, but also a significant per-race payout in 2024. A record overall prize package totaling $1,000,000.

Every event on the Mazda MX-5 Cup schedule will feature two 45-minute sprint races to be live-streamed on RACER.com. The live streams are produced by NASCAR Productions, and feature play-by-play and commentary from the IMSA Radio squad headed by John Hindaugh and Shea Adam.

DEMOGRAPHICS
The Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup has consistently attracted young and upcoming talent, especially with the scholarships available from the Mazda MX-5 Cup Shootout and the prize money available to the Rookie of the Year and Champion. That demographic is only half of the MX-5 Cup field, however. The rest is made up of established professionals, who just want to go racing and have a good time on the weekend.

The Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup is some of the most competitive racing around, with the top 10 cars often running nose-to-tail for an entire race. The draft can be critical, photo finishes are common and rubbing fenders is all but guaranteed. It’s one thing to be doing it all for the big $250,000 championship payday, but what if you know that’s out of your reach and finishing in the top 10 is a good day, would you still do it? The answer from MX-5 Cup’s ‘weekend warriors,’ is a resounding ‘yes’.
THE MX-5 CAR
The MX-5 Cup race cars start as complete MX-5 road cars from the Mazda Hiroshima, Japan factory before being transported to engineering development partner Flis Performance in Daytona Beach, Florida, where they are produced into a race car.

As our Team Owner/ Premiere Sponsor, you own the car. You get to choose the colors, the graphics, and can completely customize the branding & logos to promote your business.

LEGAL TEAM

RACING LOGISTICS / AUTO MAINTENANCE
Professional racing requires a professional logistics /auto maintenance team to keep the cars on track.
During the race season, the car is stored and prepped at the team's shop. While Flis does all engine work, everything else is the team's responsibility.
While the official logistics teams for the 2024 season have not been announced, our driver has previously worked with the Principals who run two of the MX-5 Cup teams and would be happy to have the opportunity to have either team handle trackside/logistics/maintenance.

Formidable generally supports two to three cars per season. Hixon generally supports 8-10 cars. So, depending on their availability and interest, we could work with either team.
MARKETING SUPPORT

Our driver's family owns The Link Agency, a national advertising and PR agency.
The Link Agency will provide digital marketing, social media, and PR to our Team Owner/ Premiere Sponsor, our driver, and the team pro bono throughout the 2024 race season.
